Natural Solutions For Itchy Skin

Itching is very difficult to resist for most people. Scratching an itchy spot gives relief other than anything. But this relief is for small amount of time and soon and if you rough more there is a chance to break down the skin. Itching is body's defense mechanisms against unpleasant stimuli, but at the same time if you do it as a habit it gives more discomfort. Below explains some natural remedies to relieve the itching.

Coconut oil
Coconut oil is considered as good for itchy skin due to dryness, insects or any other skin problems. coconut oil is considered as best for natural skin care. You can use it by rub a little coconut oil into the affected area directly. During winter it may cause the entire skin itch it is better to apply the coconut oil up and down after washing the body. Coconut is a solution for mouth ulcers too.

Lemon
Lemon is very good to use against itchy skin as it contains Vitamin C and has bleaching properties. Lemon contains volatile oil which has the ability to work against inflammation. Cut a lemon in two pieces and squeeze out a little juice over the itchy area. Allow this to dry by air and it gives some relief.

Baking Soda                                                
Small skin areas having itch can be stopped using baking soda. For that make a paste of water and baking soda containing one part is water and three is baking soda. Apply this paste to the itchy skin area. Don’t use this method if the skin is broken. When itch is spread all over the body adds a cup of baking soda into a tub full of lukewarm water and soak in it for half an hour; then dry in air.

Tulsi
Thymol, eugenol and camphor rich tulsi leaves reduce irritation of skin due to itch. For that rub few tulsi leaves over the itchy area after washing. Otherwise boil few leaves to prepare a tea in a covered utensil.  Dip a cotton cloth into the tea and apply to the itchy skin.

Aloe Vera

The moisturizing action of aloe vera makes it more effective for skin smoothening agent. When rub the gel of aloe vera over itchy spot of the skin can help to reduce the irritation in that area which leads to quick relief from itching. Cut a leaf lengthwise by cutting it from the plant using a knife and apply a little of the jelly-like substance got while cutting the leaf and leave it on for a few minutes.
